A useful thing to keep in mind

Keep the initials. Say them one letter at a time.

An initialism is spoken as individual letters, like API. Paste your phrase, decide whether to keep small words, and optionally add periods. The same letter sequence can sometimes be read as a word or letter by letter; the intended pronunciation comes from actual use, not from the generator.

How it works

A shorter path to a better name.

Start with the idea or start with the letters. We’ll meet you there.

Phrase → Acronym

01

Put your idea into words

Paste a phrase, a project title or a list of names. One phrase per line works for batches.

02

Keep what matters

Skip linking words like “and” and “of”, or keep every word. Add periods if you prefer.

03

Make it a little shorter

Generate, check the highlighted initials and copy your short name.

Letters → Phrase

01

Pick your letters

Enter a word or 2–8 letters you want your phrase to spell.

02

Set the mood

Choose business, tech, education, motivational or creative vocabulary.

03

Keep the good bits

Lock a word you like. Replace another, refresh unlocked words, then copy the phrase.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A few things, spelled out.

Do periods change how an initialism is pronounced?+

Not by themselves. Periods only change the display format. Actual pronunciation depends on accepted usage and your audience.

Is this acronym generator free?+

Yes. Both modes, batch generation, copying and word locks are free. You do not need an account or a subscription.

Are my words uploaded or saved?+

The generator runs locally in your browser. It does not send your inputs to our server or an AI provider, and it does not save input history. Normal page requests still reach our hosting provider.

Can I generate acronyms in bulk?+

Yes. In Phrase → Acronym, put one phrase on each line. You can process up to 50 non-empty lines and 5,000 characters, then use Copy all. Reverse mode explores one 2–8-letter name at a time.

Are these official meanings or definitions?+

No. Forward mode extracts initials from your input. Reverse mode combines a local word library into creative drafts. Neither mode verifies official definitions, name ownership or historical usage.

Can I use a generated name for my brand?+

Treat it as an idea, not clearance. This tool does not check trademarks, company registers or domain availability. Research similar names and relevant jurisdictions before commercial use; get professional advice when needed.
